Who we are

Bellevue Dental is the trading name of Bellevue Dental Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16129057). We are the data controller for the personal information described in this notice. Our practice is at 7 Jaggard Way, Wandsworth Common, London SW12 8SG.

We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office, registration number ZB835922.

The information we collect

Depending on how you use the practice, we may hold:

• your name, date of birth, address, phone number and email address
• your medical and dental history, clinical notes, treatment plans, X-rays, scans and clinical photographs
• details of your appointments and any correspondence with us
• payment records and, if you use them, details of your dental insurance or finance application
• the name of your doctor or of a dentist who referred you
• information you send through this website, by email or by WhatsApp

How we use it and our legal basis

We use your information to provide dental care safely, to run the practice and to meet our legal and professional duties. Under UK data protection law we rely on the following:

• providing your care and managing your appointments and payments is necessary for our contract with you and for our legitimate interests in running a dental practice
• health information is processed because it is necessary for the provision of health care by, or under the responsibility of, a registered health professional
• keeping proper records is a legal and professional obligation, including requirements of the Care Quality Commission and the General Dental Council
• appointment reminders and recall invitations are sent in our legitimate interests and to support your care, and you can ask us to stop them
• marketing messages, and any use of your photographs outside your clinical record, happen only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time

Who we share it with

We share information only when there is a reason to do so:

• other health professionals involved in your care, such as a specialist, a dentist who referred you or your doctor
• dental laboratories that make crowns, aligners and other appliances for you
• our sister practices, if you choose to be seen there or one of our clinicians treats you there
• your insurer or finance provider, when you ask us to
• companies that provide our practice management, imaging, online booking, messaging and IT systems, who act on our instructions
• regulators, the courts or the police, where the law requires it

We do not sell your information.

CCTV at the practice

Security cameras operate at Bellevue Dental. They cover the entrance and reception only. There are no cameras in our treatment rooms. We use CCTV to keep patients, visitors and our team safe, to protect the premises and to help prevent and detect crime. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in the safety and security of the practice.

Footage is stored securely and can be viewed only by authorised members of the team. It is deleted automatically after no more than 30 days, unless we need it to look into an incident, complaint or claim. We may share footage with the police or our insurers where the law allows, and the company that maintains the system may see it when servicing the equipment. You can ask for a copy of footage of yourself by emailing info@bellevuedental.co.uk.

How long we keep it

Dental records are kept for at least 11 years after your last visit, or until a younger patient’s 25th birthday if that is later, in line with professional guidance. Other information is kept only for as long as it is needed.

Where it is kept

Your records are held securely, with access limited to the people who need them. Some of our suppliers store information outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as an adequacy decision or approved contract terms.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
• ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
• ask us to delete or restrict information in some circumstances, although we must keep clinical records for the periods described above
• object to how we use your information in some circumstances
• ask for your information to be transferred to you or to another provider
• withdraw consent where we rely on it

To use any of these rights, write to us at the practice or email info@bellevuedental.co.uk. We will reply within one month and there is normally no charge.

This website

You can browse this website without giving us any personal information. If you email us, message us on WhatsApp or book online, we use what you send to deal with your request. Online booking is provided through our practice management system, WhatsApp is operated by Meta, the maps on this site are provided by Google and the patient review score is provided by Working Feedback. Each has its own privacy notice. Our use of cookies is described in our cookie policy.

If you are unhappy

Please tell us first, so that we can try to put things right. Our complaints procedure explains how. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

We review this notice regularly and will publish any changes on this page.
