What we can help with
Pain that keeps you awake, or a swollen gum or face, usually means infection and should be seen quickly.
Keep any pieces if you can. Sharp edges can be smoothed and most breaks can be repaired.
Keep the crown safe and bring it with you. It can often be put back the same day.
Hold it by the crown, put it back in the socket or keep it in milk, and see a dentist straight away.
For toothache, the painkillers you would normally take for a headache can help, following the instructions on the packet. Avoid very hot, cold or sweet food and drink, and try to chew on the other side.
At your appointment we find the cause, take an X-ray if it is needed and deal with the pain first. That might mean a dressing, a temporary filling, recementing a crown or starting treatment on an infected tooth. We will explain the cost before we do anything further.
Some problems are not for a dental practice. If swelling is spreading towards your eye or neck or makes it hard to breathe or swallow, if bleeding will not stop, or if you have had a serious blow to the face, call 999 or go to your nearest A&E.

These are guide fees. You will have exact costs in writing before any treatment begins.
Bellevue Dental is a private practice and we welcome patients with private dental insurance. Treatment plans from £1,000 can be spread with finance through our partner Tabeo, subject to status. Check your eligibility with Tabeo. The full list of fees is on our fees page.
An emergency appointment at Bellevue Dental is £125. X-rays are £35 each if they are needed, and a temporary filling is from £75. We will tell you the cost of any further treatment before it is done.
Call us on 020 8673 9995 as early in the day as you can. We will always try to see you as soon as possible, and calling early gives us the best chance of finding a time.
Hold the tooth by the crown, not the root. If it is clean, gently push it back into the socket and bite on a clean cloth to hold it. If you cannot, keep it in milk. See a dentist straight away, because the first hour matters most.
Leave a message by phone or WhatsApp and we will reply when we reopen. If you have swelling that is spreading or affects your breathing or swallowing, bleeding that will not stop or a serious injury to your face, call 999 or go to A&E.
Yes. Tell us when you call. We will explain everything before we start and deal with the pain first. Further treatment can be planned with sedation if you would find that easier.
